Tom McGrath is known as the Motorcycle Lawyer for his dedication to motorcyclists and motorcycling. In 1992 he founded the Virginia Coalition of Motorcyclists (vcomonline.org), a political action committee dedicated to promoting and defending the rights of Virginia motorcyclist at the General Assembly and elsewhere. VCOM is supported by members and others interested in protecting our right to ride.
Tom is a graduate of Belmont Abbey College and the University of South Carolina School of Law. He has served on the Virginia Governor’s Motorcycle Advisory Council and the Commonwealth Transportation Safety Board. He has been characterized as a “hero” by Easyriders Magazine; he is the recipient of the Virginia Governor’s Transportation Safety Award, the Silver Spoke Award from the National Coalition of Motorcyclists, and the Motorcycle Safety Award which was presented by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.
