Reckless Driving by Speed

Introduced by Delegate Rasoul and Sickles

Under current law it is per-se reckless driving to drive at a speed of 20 mph over the speed limit or at any speed in excess of 80 mph regardless of the speed limit

This bill would make that threshold for reckless driving 85 mph when in a 70 mph zone

This is an answer to speed traps such as the Million Dollar Mile on 295 in Hopewell where people doing 81 mph in a 70 mph zone are receiving reckless driving tickets
